3 hours
Boulder Islands Kayaking
Approximately 3 hours of paddling on Lake Mead, to several islands.
About the Experience
A quick kayak sampler on the crystal waters of Lake Mead. Great for all skill levels (including those with no experience).
Kayak to the Boulder Islands, a set of mountain tops that have been exposed by the fluctuating water levels at Lake Mead.
Stop for a quick hike to the top of the islands, where 360 views await. Enjoy a light snack while exploring the coves where many birds winter and nest. You have the opportunity to see Snowy Egrets, Great Blue Herons, Clark's and Western Grebes, and many others.
Be sure to wear a bathing suit in summer months; the water temperatures are perfect for swimming. A professional guide will be at your side to offer instruction, stories, local history, and the information about construction of the Hoover Dam. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your kayaking adventure on Lake Mead.
